Story of LOVE LIFE

Love and life are distinctly two different things…and the resemblance between them tells about you…those who are deeply in love would realize it’s essence each and every second of their life…those who are single and define themselves happy to be single would surely treat it as two opposite poles of the earth…believe it or not every person who claims being single is the way for them…and being single makes them happy those people are the ones who get hurt the most when they fall in love and then lose their love…
When I think of a person who considered being engaged means chained…or burdened for life…this quote of Adam reminds me how love meant to him after he lost the person he loved…
If I were given a second chance to live my life…the way it has spanned up till now… only thing that I would do differently is …I wouldn’t have wasted 2 years of my life in speaking my love for you…!!!

Today…I am here with Adam’s story…

Priest: Adam…was your best friend…I would like you to speak something for him…
Adam’s Friend: I remember that day distinctly…when I met Adam for the first time…and not surprisingly Adam was the best person who could be my friend for life…as he was very vocal…loved to speak ,often called himself an open book…but the best thing I liked in him is that in spite of knowing each other’s weakness…and all the hidden negatives he would seldom bring that into, when you are in disagreement with him…and no matter how your relation may be…good or bad…he would always speak…good for you…and really a very good person from his heart…he might hurt someone by his speech…as he doesn’t know what he is speaking…but never had any clumsiness within his heart…it’s really difficult to find a person…nowadays…who doesn’t have anything against anybody…

Priest: you knew about Adam and Angelica right?
Adam’s friend: yup totally opposites. Angelica was certainly not the right person for Adam…but I was wrong…
Priest: wrong?
Adam’s friend: As a friend of Adam’s I knew…Adam and Angelica would never make it…
Priest: didn’t you speak about it to Adam?
Adam’s friend: I knew it at the first time that Adam is in trouble when he told me about Angelica…I warned him that he was going to a wrong road which is not meant for him…and someday he would bump into a dead end.
Priest: tell me something more of it…what would he often speak of Angelica
Adam’s Friend: first day when he saw her…he was nervous…wasn’t able to speak properly…he told me angelica is the one for him.
Priest: I want to know the entire story…why did he do so?
Adam’s friend: you know he would do anything to spend his time with her…his life was incomplete if he couldn’t see her …would do all kinds of tricks and drama to see a glimpse of her…loved to see smile on her face…hated and cursed himself when she would ignore him or would not talk to him…blabber to me…when they had quarrels ...would become restless if there’s anything wrong with her…he would spend lavishly. when he was with her…he would speak only of her…and when he wasn’t….then also he would speak only of her…in short he made a small world for himself where there was angelica and Adam…yes we were there as friends…but angelica meant life for him…Adam was not the person what he was…after he met angelica…but the sad part of it was….angelica wasn’t aware of Adam’s feelings…or what he was going through without her.
Priest: you knew something was wrong with him…when he last met Angelica?
Adam’s friend: yeah they both met via coincidence in a marriage of one of their common friend.
Priest: what happened there?
Adam’s friend: Adam saw her standing beside the bridegroom…he went to the bride groom(common friend) and said…I know it’s one of most happening day of your life probably the most important one…but you know it’s a day I feared the most…to come in front of the person who doesn’t want to see even my Shadow…sorry but I will have to go…and best wishes to you for your new life…he turned away to go suddenly Angelica called his name from behind.

Adam’s friend started narrating the whole incident:
Angelica: Adam…
Adam: Adam stood right there…I could see tears in his eyes…he stood there facing back to angelica…
Angelica: are you going away because of me?
Adam didn’t utter a single word…
Angelica: I know you are…you never understood me…and you will never understand me ever.
Adam wiped of his tears…and turned around but didn’t speak anything…
Angelica: I never loved you…I considered you to be my friend and being a good friend I tried to make you realize that you were not the right person for me…but you never understood that.
Adam: still unable to speak anything…
Angelica: you made your life a hell because you never saw things as it was… I was your friend but you made a dent to our friendship by thinking that its love…you made our friendship complicated.
Adam: (finally spoke)… when are you getting married?
Angelica: why?
Adam: you know my presence still offends you…you still want to be away from me…I just want to know when you’re getting married…I would be free then…and then you will never have to worry about me.
Angelica: what?
Adam: you know what I feel for you…and you also know my feelings would never change for you…so it’s best for you to have a life for yourself...
Angelica: you don’t need to worry about me…or when I am marrying.
Adam: I was your well wisher and I will always be one…bye.
Adam didn’t stay a minute longer…

Adam’s friend: Angelica got married the next month…The day angelica got married…that same day…Adam died in a road accident…an accident where he saved Angelica’s husband…
Priest: Today we are all here to pray for him so that his soul may rest in peace.
Finally Angelica uttered:
Angelica: Adam spent his life for his love…so that i could be happy…friends let’s have a moment of silence to pray for crazy lover Adam was…then she started crying herself.

There are moments of our life when we underestimate the presence of someone in our life.
Angelica though can claim…she never loved Adam as Adam never required any proof to show his love to her and he never cared when he only got hatred in return to his love…but Angelica’s tears speaks a lot for him…it speaks for Adam.

Friends…we have got only one life…so it’s very important for us to realize that there are people who may change with time…their feelings may change…they might not feel the way they used to but there are people who won’t change…even if they have to give their life for it…

This story of Adam is dedicated to all those people who believe in:
One life committed to one love for the one and only One Person in their Life…!!!

Salesmanship or Product which is important ???

Salesmanship or Product which is important ???

Insurance is the most toughest thing to sell they say! I have not sold one so I might have to just buy that argument on the face of it. The closest thing that I have sold to Insurance is Rating for small and medium enterprises. Selling something which doesn't really give you value is not a very easy thing. Now there are arguments for both sides. There are people who sell this product and achieve the required target almost every month. So there we might talk about the salesmanship of the person who is selling it. Then there are others who would say why should I sell this to someone who is not going to benefit from such an investment however small that amount may be!
How do you define a sales person? What is his exact role? Is salesman someone who help identify what the customer wants and then suggest a right product which would fulfill the need or is he someone who would ask questions to anyone who qualify to be his potential customer for which his predetermined answer is his product, or salesman is that persistent guy who almost stalk you to death before you finally buy whatever he is selling so as to just get over it. Philiph Kotler says people buy holes and not drill machines! So can we say that sales as an activity should be superfluous, there is no push required from a salesman?
This is where theory and practice go on a tangent. Sales as we see on a daily basis is not a passive activity! Its a competitive market where people try all sort of tricks so as to ensure that you buy their wares. A sales person would lie, deceive, over promise, mis-represent to ensure that you buy his product. It is so fixed in our psyche that Salesman are supposed to be liars, pushy etc. We always get annoyed at the first sight of someone who tries to sell even though we might be actually considering to buy such a product! Eg: If I am in a mall looking for some electronic item and if suddenly a sales guy comes and asks me what I want to buy or even if he just shadows me along I get irritated. Now this guy is just doing his job he has been paid to do so. So again what is his job? Is it to ensure that he answers my question or is it to ensure that he sells his wares to me? For now I believe that companies are paying him to ensure that he sell wares to those who walk in.
But my argument is that may be its time companies look around and ponder about the strategies that they adopt to sell their product. So what inspired me to scribble so much is the recent max newyork ad. Max Newyork Insurance has recently tried to do something with their new communication strategy about how their agents are different from the other companies. I was always of the opinion that insurance should be sold as insurance and not as an investment option, but very often I see a lot of agents sell it as investment rather than indemnity. Max has played smart by positioning their agents as the honest lot who would give you true pictures and thereby creating a positive disposition at the customers side when an agent approaches him. Otherwise almost all insurance companies offer more or less same products. So once customer give the max guy a chance will he play fair or he will act just like a salesman is to be seen !!!

An Easter wish.

Once there was a small boy who hated studying. No matter how much his teachers tried they could not get him take an interest in them. His disinterest reflected in his grades and consequently in his attitude and of those he interacted with. No amount of incentives, punishments could get the boy to study. Seeing the urgency of the situation his parents were summoned and told to do something about it. The parents too tried their best but in vain. Finally the school recommended that the boy be admitted to a convent school that was famous for disciplining kids. Having no option the parents admitted their child and entrusted him to the priests and nuns who were to be his teachers.

A few days passed and to the amazement of one and all the child started performing exceptionally well. He did his homework on time, scored well in tests, etc. Not knowing what had transpired the puzzled parents asked the boy, “Son, what’s the matter? What has made you love your studies and perform so well?” The son didn’t answer. Again his parents prod him further hoping for a reply and an end to their confusion. The son a bit scared finally opened up and replied, “You see, up on the wall in my classroom they have a statue of a man nailed to a cross. I’m scared that if I don’t do well in my studies they may hang me up there too.”

The wonders of Christ may be great. He cured people of their illness, brought the dead to life, cleansed us of our sins, etc. But more importantly what Christ did and does is through his mysterious ways takes all our minus’ and turns them into plus’ just by coming into our lives. If you look closely the cross is shaped like a plus sign too. Hence put a little more of Jesus in your life and the world will be a happy place, no more fighting, no more strife, everyone will have a smiling face. Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.

The beauty of integration

If you're thinking that this is an article on national integration then you are mistaken. Whether this article could teach you a couple of things on national integration, well that’s a different thing altogether. This article is to talk about integration in math – yes that same integration that most of us hated and few of us loved. That same integration that defined our math scores in our board exams and competitive exams. That same integration that didn’t make sense and made us wonder why (in today’s times we would say “Why this kolaveri di?”:))

In school, unfortunately integration is often introduced as the reverse process to differentiation. It has wide applications, for example in finding areas under curves and volumes of solids. But the fact is that integration is probably the sexiest thing in mathematics, just like temporary tables are in SQL. Integration, just like a catalyst in Chemistry lets you be a part of the process, create wonders and then leave taking all what you brought back with you.

In other words there's nothing to lose, but everything to gain. Though this may sound funny, strange and even unbelievable to many it is in simple words the truth and whole truth. If you don’t believe me let me tell you a story (or present a POC – Proof Of Concept :)) and I’m sure you’ll be left with your eyes wide open, mouths with jaws dropped and lost in thought wondering whether this is the same integration that scared the hell out of us.

Not so long ago in a far, far away land lived a man who had 3 children. This man had 17 horses and willed that after his death the horses be divided amongst his sons with the eldest getting half of the total, the 2nd getting 1/3rd and the youngest 1/9th. When the father died the sons sat and started the process of splitting the horses but were soon left in a tizzy. Dividing 17 horses in half meant the eldest would get 8 and half horses. How could one have half a horse? Not knowing what to do they asked all the village experts but none could solve their misery. Left with no option they sought divine intervention.

Finally one day a man with a horse appeared at their doorstep. The man had heard of their complicated case and offered to help them for a fee. The sons agreed and the man started. He added his horse to their tally making it a total of 18. From that he gave the eldest son his share of half that’s 9; the second 1/3rd that’s 6 and the youngest 1/9th that’s 2 totaling up to 9+6+2=17. The sons happy with the division gave the man his fee. The man calmly walked away happy not only with the reward but also his horse.

I hope this convinces you that integration is nothing to be scared of but to be loved. In fact like all other problems it’s like a Bombay local train - looks filled to the max when it’s coming into the station but actually there are people just standing at the door while its empty inside.
